Matthew Williamson

Matthew Williamson is an internationally acclaimed British designer, renowned for his bold use of colour, intricate pattern, and unmistakable sense of joy. Born in Manchester and trained at Central Saint Martins, Matthew first made his mark in 1997 with a now-legendary London Fashion Week debut – an 11-piece collection modelled by Kate Moss, Jade Jagger, and Helena Christensen. Instantly hailed as one of the UK’s most exciting young talents, his career has since spanned fashion, interiors, lifestyle and design, cementing him as a true British icon.

 

His fashion legacy includes red-carpet favourites worn by Sienna Miller, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kirsten Dunst, creative directorship at Emilio Pucci, and a landmark collaboration with H&M that introduced his work to a global audience. Matthew’s vibrant aesthetic soon moved into interiors, where he has since created best-selling wallpaper and fabric collections with Osborne & Little, furniture for Duresta, and projects for leading hotels, restaurants, and lifestyle brands. In 2024, he was awarded the prestigious Andrew Martin International Interior Designer of the Year, recognising his impact on the design world.

 

Matthew continues to expand his creative universe. His bestselling book Living Bright (Thames & Hudson, 2023) set out his manifesto for joyful interiors, while his work has reached new audiences through regular TV appearances, including as a judge on BBC’s Interior Design Masters, later streamed globally on Netflix.

 

2026 will see Matthew open Caserra 71, his first lifestyle store in Deia, Mallorca, alongside the launch of his debut paint collection with Pickleson Paints – 16 original colours that capture his signature vibrancy and optimism.
